Events 2021

Because of lockdown, this will be a much-reduced program of events this year.

We start the season a commemoration of VE Day on Saturday 8th May and the Nottingham Blitz on 9th May. As this will still be subject to lockdown restrictions, we are planning a couple of afternoon road runs through Nottingham, with the Saturday run ending at a pub, (if we are allowed), and the Sunday one ending at the Fireman’s Memorial for a short commemoration in the grounds of St Mary’s Church in the Lace Market.

Things are quiet on the NFS front until August Bank Holiday when we are at Melton Mowbray (28th-29th August) which will be the NFS on a training exercise pumping water from the river.

The Great Central Railway is at war over the weekend of 10th – 12th September. We hope to stage an air raid.

The next weekend we are at Newark Air Museum on 2nd – 3rd October, where we hope to demonstrate tackling an aircraft fire using foam.

Papplewick Pumping Station have their end-of-season 1940s event on 16th / 17th October, where we will do our usual training and demo using the lake.

For a number of reasons, we will not be at the Severn Valley Railway or the Black Country Living Museum this year.
