Two enemy bombers made a daring raid on Kidderminster Station on the Severn Valley Railway of the GWR. Luckily no-one was injured, but a fuel dump caught fire. A shed with a quantity of black market sausages and other goods got hit by an incendiary, and was completely destroyed before the NFS arrived. However the bulk of the valuable fuel was saved for the war effort.
The police rumbled the criminal gang, and last Sunday, the whole lot were arrested just after the firemen put out the fire, and discovered the remains of the black market goods.
Thanks to Adam Bull and Robert Matthews for some of the photos and video.
