The stripdown is now complete, and there is hardly a scrap of original wood left, apart from the inside of the wheel arches.
The chassis is painted, and bolted back together.
The missing wheel-bolt replaced on the RH brake drum.
The wooden framing has been stripped off all the metal panels.
New floorboards are being sourced.
The wire wheels are being rebuilt, and are expected back next week.
A new clerestory has been made, and the framing is almost complete, except for the door-frame. Plywood panels are being fitted.
So the next question is, do we re-use the original galvanised steel sheet, or replace with new? It is all rather tatty (patina?), but there is very little left of the original except for the chassis.
