Well, what d’you know? The Germans bombed the same pub again the very next day at the same time! Luckily for the pub, the National Fire Service was on full alert at their base just a few hundred yards up the road, and were able to deploy three appliances within minutes of the air raid starting.
- The driver of the Pump Escape has a chat with the local Bobby.
- The K2 and pump, followed by the Pump Escape arrive on the scene
- The pump is manoeuvred into position, while the policeman points out the source of the fire to the NFS messenger.
- The suction hose from the emergency water supply is connected to the pump
- The Turntable Ladder arrives on the fireground
- The Officer in Charge despatches the messenger with the TL in the background
- Four strong men raise the ladder
- Fireman Walker heads to the top of the ladder
- Safely clipped on at the top
- And up to, well, I should say about 50 feet will be enough for this job
