THE HISTORICAL MARITIME SOCIETY at WARTIME CLUMBER PARK
The Historical Maritime Society are based in Todmorden, Lancashire & re-enact periods of Nelson’s Navy & also portray R.N. Commando during WWII. Visitors to Wartime Clumber Park were very lucky to see their replica MK8 motorised wooden canoe in operation. Combined Operations Pilotage Parties Units (COPPS) used these canoes for reconnaissance & raids in the latter stages of WWII. Built in three sections with a detachable bow & stern, 2 stabilising outriggers, maritime engine & paddles, a lateen sail can also be attached.
