Because of COVID, and uncertainty about the invasion of Ukraine, this will probably still be a reduced program of events this year.
Over the Saturday and Sunday of the May Bank Holiday, Newark Air Museum are holding a Cold War event, where we could take the RL and Goddess. (30th April/1st May).
We are at Melton Mowbray (14th/15th May) which will be the NFS on a training exercise pumping water from the river. We may also be able to do a high-level rescue with the TL.
On Sunday 29th May, we are doing an arena display at the Hoveringham Vintage Vehicle Rally – a small event just two miles from our base.
The Great Central Railway is celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee, Thurs 2nd June to Sunday 5th June. We will be doing an AFS recruiting event in the 1950s, with Green Goddesses and RL trucks. On the same Sunday afternoon, the Goddess will be at Lowdham Village Hall.
On 2nd and 3rd July, we could try out the 1940s event at Stapleford Park near Melton Mowbray.
There is an event at Lincoln on 23rd/24th July.
Last year, we enjoyed the event at Stonehurst Farm in Mountsorrel. Quite a laid-back opportunity to chat and drink tea. 12th/13th August.
Over August Bank Holiday (27th/28th) Newark Air Museum are remembering the 20th century, including the 40s and Cold War eras. We hope to demonstrate tackling an aircraft fire using foam.
Papplewick Pumping Station have their end-of-season 1940s event on 15th / 16th October, where we will do our usual training and demo using the lake.
