The LW Vass premises of Ampthill are a true treasure-trove of fire equipment, and Peter is very helpful. He opened especially for us this Saturday morning for us to peruse the goodies recovered from the closure of Williamsons of Oldham. He mentioned that in the whole history of Vass (which goes back to the early 30s) they never had more than 7 or 8 Home Office Ground Monitors in stock. Now they have over a hundred. And more than a dozen LPPs. And no less than 5 stillages full of hydrant standpipes!
I managed to acquire a number of very useful bits, including an ejector pump, a number of 3″ suction fittings and adaptors including slipper suction, a London branch, some very small, and one very large nozzle, Goddess pressure and compound gauges, spanners, leather belts and pouches.
